Notes:
Change in price is the change since the last report. Prices are estimates based on delivery to dairy farms with allowance for freight, storage, and marketing costs, but exclusive of GST. Wheat prices are for the relevant stockfeed wheat available in a region (ASW, AGP, SFW1 or FED1) and F1 for barley.
Commentary
- Wheat: Down $25 ($470 to $480/tonne). Barley: Steady ($425 to $435/tonne). Maize: Down $5 ($455 to $465/tonne). Sorghum: Up $10 ($425 to $435/tonne).
- Wet conditions continue to push back sowing in southern QLD and western downs, while central QLD remains mostly dry.
- Old crop wheat decreased over the last week, whilst new crop remained steady.
- Old crop barley has generally softened over the week, while new crop remains firmly priced.
- Sorghum markets steady following the weekend with harvest resuming across western Downs. SOR2 volumes are expected to increase going forward.
