Western Dairy Team

The Western Dairy office is located in Western Australia's regional city of Bunbury, within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development building. Western Dairy employs five staff members and engages local consultants.

Jenelle Bowles
Regional Manager - Executive Officer
Jenelle Bowles leads the Western Dairy team in engaging and supporting WA’s 140 dairy farm businesses.

A communications and corporate affairs specialist, she works with the Western Dairy Board, Dairy Australia, service providers and government partners to enhance the dairy industry’s sustainability, profitability and reputation.

Jenelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from Murdoch University and has worked as a journalist and communications professional across media, mining and Landcare sectors.

    Jessica Andony
    Regional Extension Officer
    Jess Andony coordinates Western Dairy's extension portfolio of events and engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Animal Science with Dairy Science Honours from Murdoch University.

    Jess is from a dairy farming family and is driven to educate and support the WA dairy community.

      Ya-Chun Yu
      Dairy Pastures Research Officer
      Ya-Chun Yu manages Western Dairy’s independent pasture trials and implements pasture projects that help meet WA dairy industry needs and priorities. Ya-Chun shares the trial results with dairy farmers to shape their feedbase management decisions.

      Ya-Chun holds a Master of Agricultural Science degree from the University of Western Australia, majoring in Crop and Animal Farming Systems. She has worked in agricultural production in her native Taiwan and in Australia.

        Rob La Grange
        Dairy Training Officer
        Rob La Grange leads the Western Dairy dairy training program in partnership with South Regional TAFE.

        He travels widely and supports dairy trainees and those undertaking Cert IV in Agriculture (Dairy) to fulfil their training needs, using industry-accredited and recognised training resources.

          Dan Parnell
          Project Officer
          Dan Parnell is an agronomist and the Western Dairy Dairycare Project Officer working to improve effluent systems in partnership with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation.

          Dan is experienced in effluent design and works with farmers to produce efficient effluent systems that deliver on-farm benefits as well as improved water quality outcomes within their catchments.

          He also supports the Dairy Farm Monitor Program, the annual benchmarking of the WA dairy industry, and delivers Feeding Pastures for Profit workshops.

            Kirk Reynolds
            Agribusiness Support
            Kirk Reynolds is responsible for guiding current research projects to best meet the needs of WA dairy farmers.

            Kirk has a strong background in agricultural science and business and is widely connected within the WA dairy industry, stemming from previous roles with CSBP and as a former director of Western Dairy.

              Tammy Negus
              Feedbase and Human Resources Support
              Tammy Negus is an agronomist with a human resources qualification specific to the dairy industry.

              Tammy leads Western Dairy’s workforce development activities, supporting WA dairy farmers across a range of human resource issues, from employment contracts to implementing ‘safe farms’ through adoption of the dairy farm safety manual.

              She aspires to have every WA dairy farm using employment contracts and to have a safety culture embedded in daily operations.

              Tammy also makes a considerable contribution to Western Dairy's feedbase and animal nutrition communications.

                Roxy Schoof
                Young Dairy Network Regional Coordinator

                Roxy Schoof joined the Western Dairy team in July 2019 to manage and support the expanding Western Dairy Young Dairy Network (YDN).

                Roxy knows and loves dairy, having grown up on a dairy farm at Redmond on the South Coast of Western Australia and completing a Bachelor of Animal Science degree at Murdoch University.

                She aims to host YDN events that deliver relevant information to young people that can be applied directly to their farming business or future farm.

                  Technical Support
                  Sam Taylor is a highly respected agronomist and an accredited designer of dairy farm effluent systems.

                  Sam is contracted to Western Dairy to provide technical support to the DairyCare program and a range of agronomy services. DairyCare supports farmers in reviewing and upgrading their dairy effluent systems.

                    Esther Jones
                    Project Officer
                    Esther Jones (nee Price) supports Western Dairy’s special projects, including its iconic annual Dairy Innovation Day conference and exhibition.

                    An agricultural marketing and events manager, Esther was appointed Western Dairy regional manager and executive officer in 1999. She retired from these positions in 2020 after two decades of dedicated leadership and service to the dairy industry.
